Microsoft Entra ID integration with AI agents
Microsoft Entra ID, formerly Azure Active Directory, is Microsoft's identity and access service, used by companies to manage users, groups, single sign-on and security policies. The agent connects through the Microsoft Graph API with a least-privilege application approved by the administrator, to look up users, groups and access assignments.
What AI agents do with Microsoft Entra ID
Access request with approval
An employee asks in Teams for access to a system. The agent finds the right group in Entra ID and sends the request to the manager and IT for approval.
Joiners and leavers not forgotten
When HR records a hire or an exit, the agent prepares the account creation or block and the list of groups. IT confirms.
Inactive accounts reviewed
Every month the agent lists accounts with no sign-in for a long time and old external guests, and sends them to the owner to decide.
Who has access to what
An auditor or manager asks who has access to a system, and the agent answers with the groups and people, straight from Entra ID.

Questions about Microsoft Entra ID and AI agents
Does iTeam integrate with Microsoft Entra ID?
Yes, through the Microsoft Graph API, with an application registered and approved by the tenant administrator. iTeam's HTTP tool uses the endpoints documented by Microsoft.
Isn't it risky to give an agent identity access?
That is why we start with read access and minimum permissions. Creating, blocking or changing access requires human approval, and everything is in the iTeam audit trail and in the Entra ID logs.
Does the agent reset passwords?
Not by default. Password flows follow Microsoft's own self-service policies.
