Deel API: what you can do and how to use it with AI agents
The Deel API gives access to contracts, people, invoices, payments, adjustments and time off for contractors and employees in many countries. Companies that hire abroad or run distributed teams use it. Access is through an organization API token or an OAuth app.

How to access the Deel API
- With your company’s credentialsUses an API token generated by the administrator in Deel, with chosen scopes, or OAuth 2.0 for apps. A sandbox environment is available.
- Payments and adjustments need approval and a spending cap.
- People data is personal and, in many countries, protected by local law.
- Use the sandbox before production.

Onboarding a contractor abroad
When the contract is signed, the agent creates access, notifies the manager and sends the welcome kit.
Reimbursement with approval
The agent reads the submitted receipt, builds the expense adjustment and adds it in Deel after the manager approves.
Month-end close
The agent gathers invoices and payments for reconciliation in finance.
Time-off questions
An employee asks for their time-off balance and the agent answers by checking Deel.

Is the Deel API free?
The API has no separate fee. What you pay for are the Deel services you buy for each person.
Do I need to code to use the Deel API with iTeam?
Not necessarily. The iTeam deployment team sets up the integration from the Deel documentation.
Can an agent create contracts?
It can prepare them, but we recommend that creating and sending a contract goes through HR and legal approval.
